Gloria Arroyo For Congresswoman? WTF!

Our honorable and most respected president isn't resigning from politics yet. Gloria Arroyo filed her certificate of candidacy as congresswoman for the 2nd district of her hometown Pampanga. This is the first time that an outgoing president of the Republic of the Philippines is running for a lower position. What does this implies?

Some observers say Arroyo is running for congress to maintain her immunity to law suits that are awaiting for her when she steps down from the presidency. This will be a wise move for her. Tons of graft and corruption allegations hounded her presidency and civil society groups are just waiting for her to step down from the presidency and remove her immunity from suits.

Her personal reason for her move is according to her, it's the people of Pampanga that urged her to run for congress, and she just answered to their call. It can be remembered that a lot of ordinary people and almost all local officials of her district flocked to the palace to convince her to run. That, according to her, convinced her to file her candidacy today. Scripted or not, the people's march to the palace is now the main scape goat of madam Gloria in seeking a position in Congress.

But no matter what she say, there's only one thing that I see here - and it spells G-R-E-E-D.

Mark Bautista - Mang Inasal Commercial

I just want to comment on the Mang Inasal commercial with Mark Bautista as the endorser. In the commercial, Mark says (something like) that eating chicken barbecue of Mang Inasal is "nakasanayan na" even during his childhood. The commercial wants to emphasize that Mark has been eating the Mang Inasal chicken barbecue since he was a child that's why he said "hinahanap-hanap niya".

But did really Mark even knew Mang Inasal when he was still a child? Absolutely NO. Mark was lying when he said "nakasanayan na niya ang Mang Inasal". The truth is, Mang Inasal was not yet existing in Cagayan de Oro City (where he grew-up) when he was still a child. That's it. We (Cagay-anons) know that Mark was lying in the commercial and we do know that there's no big deal with it. But why am I blogging it? The truth is, I am running out of something to blog. So as I see it in TV, then I said I'll blog it and here it is, a nonsense post :)

Angel Locsin in the Emmy's

Angel Locsin is currently in New York City for the 37th International Emmy's Awards night. Angel is the only representative from the Philippines for the prestigious awards giving body. She was selected as one of the finalists in the Best Performance by an Actress category in her superb performance in "Lobo".

Angel is against the best actresses of the world who came from Mexico, France and others. It was reported that Angel asked her leading man in "Lobo" Piolo Pascual to accompany her in the red carpet but Piolo begged off because of his commitment in "Lovers In Paris" with KC Conception.

Just Another Oes Tsetnoc Support

This post is just a support to my oes tsetnoc entry in the ongoing International SEO Contest by Promo Junkie Webmasters Forum. I created a subdomain in one of my sites that will serve later are another support for my main entry.

This support site has been receiving a lot of links from friends whom I requested to link to. After this site is fully indexed by Google, I am going to redirect it to my main entry in the last two weeks of the oes tsetnoc competition and try to find out if it can give a push to my entry.

This is another SEO experiment that I am going to make in case a certain site cannot outrank some other sites, then I am going to make a sort of "replica" site with unique content, create links, then redirect (301) it to the main site and see if it can push the main site further.

Big Brother Syndrome Come 2010

Big Brother syndrome is, in computer world - the fear that somebody is watching over what you are doing in the computer. We've been hearing about hacking, the eagle eye, eavesdropping, etc.

That fear is now being used by some crock politicians running for the 2010 elections in the Philippines. They are still resorting to the three G's in Philippine elections - guns, gold and goons. As early as today, reports of intimidating the voters has been reaching the news, thanks to ABS-CBN boto patrollers.

One report says that the goons of a certain politician are telling the voters that they will know if they (voters) vote for their bet or not by looking at the computers. They claim that they know whom they voted by eavesdropping from the politician's headquarters.

Voters, who, majority are computer illiterates, will come easily as prey to these crocs. Through this way, intimidation can greatly affect the decision of the voters. When voters are intimidated, they may vote the wrong candidate and again put the Philippines in doom.

The best alternative to protect the voters is information campaign from the COMELEC. They must educate the people not only hoe to use the machines but also to the security of their votes , free from fear that the bullies are watching them as they cast their votes. Through this way, we will be having a cleaner and orderly computerized elections.

Head & Shoulders vs Clear Shampoo

I just notice this "TV Commercial" wars and the latest war going on today is the shampoo commercials. Head & Shoulders have Manny Pacquiao in their latest commercial (see video below).

After some days, Clear Shampoo also released their latest commercial having Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales and Dingdong Dantes doing some movie action stunts (see video below).

I just do not know the statistics how those commercials are doing in terms of ROI for both products. The companies won't surely release the figures.

I just remember the Belo vs Calayan issue earlier this year involving Boy Abunda. I just want to borrow their "tag line" during their war in this new war:

"If you want to look like Manny Pacquiao, use Head & Shoulders. But if you want to look like Piolo, Jericho or Dingdong, use Clear Shampoo"

Oes Tsetnoc Draws Nearer to End (United States of America)

It's not 2012. But the end I am talking about is the culmination of the International SEO Contest sponsored by Promo Junkie website with the key phrase OES TSETNOC.

My entry has luckily entered the top 10 yesterday morning but was later dislodged in the afternoon by other entries. It crawled up to the 9th spot in the morning yesterday then slowly crawled back down until it reached the 11th spot today (in the United States data center, I'm still in the top ten in other data centers).

I   am still confident however that it will again climb up to the to p10 in the coming days as many more incoming links are not yet recognized by Google until today. But it may climb for more spots or not, it's already a great performance for me. I am a newbie not only in the SEO contest but in the SEO field also. This is not an excuse however, but it's really a great experience for me.

By the way, I am mentioning here the country United States because my entry is doing good in other data centers but not in the United States. I'm not sure if this can help however.

Kris Aquino and Sharon Cuneta in One Project

Kris Aquino and Sharon Cuneta are going to do a movie together for the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival. Kris and Sharon has already started shooting the movie entitled "Mano Po 6" which is expected to break box office records.

Although, in my personal opinion, Kris is not that great actress compared to Sharon, but it will be Kris' charisma that will be a big plus factor. It is a powerhouse cast which includes Zsa Zsa Padilla and Heart Evengelista.

This movie is one of the official entries in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival and I will be posting other entries soon.
